Thorben Eggers (*1988), lives and works in Hamburg/Tokyo (DE/JP). His painting deals with the significance of digital forms for the classical physical craft of oil painting. His works are based on photographs of his surroundings, which he alters in digital space. As in a digital stage set, he can artificially create perspectives and light sources that stage his pictorial ideas in their unusualness and grandeur. With his works, Eggers questions the significance of the painted image and the concept of creativity in the digital age.
