Timur Lukas (*1986), lives and works in Augsburg (DE). Lukas' current research method consists of buying other people's family archives in order to search for motifs. The focus is on the precise composition of the old photographs and the establishment of an intimate relationship with the people and content unknown to him in the photographs. The romantic influence in his works ranges from the subjects (architecture, bouquets of flowers, animals) to the oil pastels that he produces himself in his studio. His current works show how the ravages of time gnaw at once magnificent structures and depict the process of decay as an integral part of life.
