Daniel Hörner

Daniel Hörner (*1978), lives and works in Hamburg (DE). His paintings consist of a geometric grid of biros lines that develop a kind of life of their own through the use of soft oil pastels. The abstract paintings are rather simple in their basic structure of lines and surfaces, but take on a strong life of their own through their treatment and processing. Painting thus becomes a material that, reduced to simple compositions, allows colour to speak for itself. Colour as an object, as an event, obsessive and detached from ductus and painterly gesture.
